Since the COVID restrictions, many therapists now work remotely.

I offer to meet with patients through their portal application for video telehealth.

In our modern world, we have seen an increase in the pace and impersonality of much of the business world. Now, many businesses have chosen standard robotic voice teleprompters that answer calls and keep one pressing a button or answering in pre-selected phrases before cutting one off or maybe, finally, transferring to someone who can talk and help.

Such disconnection from others in this cumbersome way of exchanging information or obtaining needed help is frustrating, off-putting, and dehumanizing.

Connecting on a human level is vital to our work.

I want to work with you in a more humanizing way. Our initial video session includes reviewing any questions that may have come up when filling out the intake form through your online portal. I will learn some of your history, current concerns, and what you seek to achieve in our work together.

As I witness your experiences, I can help you sort out your past and present experiences. We will deal with your thoughts and feelings so you gain more clarity about what path you want to take to achieve the more satisfying life experience that you seek.

About Me

AdminMy career path was not a straight line.

I became a clinician through the back door while working with a team for program evaluation research. We studied the quality of life of program participants to determine if the programs were helping folks. My favorite part of the job involved collecting the program participants’ information about their lives and what things were improving.

However, when collecting participant data, one should not provide feedback to a participant because it might influence the participant’s further responses and the study’s results. I realized I had hit a brick wall emotionally with my career path. A robot would undoubtedly do this work better – and less likely to smile, nod, or respond except by programming.

A supervisor, knowing my strengths, suggested I explore social work. I wondered, “How can I be a therapist?” My life certainly hadn’t been a perfect walk in a park. There had been many challenges I had faced already. But I was ready for a change.

What I discovered in graduate school was that what mattered most when faced with challenges in life was how one met them, not their non-existence. I graduated with my Master of Social Work (MSW) and became credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

My personal life is full of family and fun.

In my personal life, my husband and I have been married over 35 years. We’ve raised a gracious daughter who blessed us with more family – a son-in-law and grandchildren.

I enjoy skiing in the mountains in winter and hiking in nature, beach days, or gardening in summer.

I also love spending time with family and friends and quiet time with a book by the fireplace with my cat Patch.
