FAQ

Where are you located?
I will be meeting with you online for our telehealth sessions. When we have a scheduled appointment, I will send you a link to your telehealth session that you can open from the portal you created when you completed your intake paperwork online. You click the ‘I’m ready’ button; then, I will open the link for our session.
What is your schedule?
My private practice schedule currently is Thursday afternoons and evenings. I take appointments from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions usually average 60 minutes.
How do I set up an appointment?
After you contact me, I’ll return your call for a brief consultation. I will ask you a few questions to understand your situation and ensure I can help you. I’ll answer your questions and tell you a little about how I work and what to expect. Then, if you’re also feeling good about working with me, we can schedule our initial appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require a 24-hour notice for an appointment cancellation. I charge a $50.00 fee for a no-show or a late (same-day) cancellation.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. I am in network with the following insurance companies: Anthem – Blue Cross/Blue Shield; Aetna; Cigna/EverNorth.
Who are your typical clients?
I typically work with individuals who are adult men and women and with couples who are looking to resolve differences in their relationships.
What do you do in sessions?
Initially, I will ask about your history to get to know you. Then, we will discuss what you want to get out of our work together, and we will decide on a plan for you to get there. After that, we will enact our plan and adjust it if needed.
What modalities do you use in your work with clients?
I use strengths-based treatment with a solutions focus. Depending on the needs of the client, I also use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Skills Building such as relaxation techniques or communication techniques.
Do your clients receive homework assignments?
Occasionally, they do. Some assignments help me track and clarify habits of thinking or behavior. Other assignments are for practice with skills such as relaxation which helps the skills become easy to use when needed.
