Telehealth

2339263393The COVID pandemic changed everything for therapy.

Once clients met in person with their therapist. Since COVID, all that has changed. Clients now contact a service provider to talk to on the other end of a phone call, which has become the norm since social distancing and the mantra of keeping safe.

Now, receiving robotic answers to calls to service providers, receiving prompts to give identity information, or pushing buttons to code in your limited choice responses have become prevalent.

There are some technological advantages, and having a video chat is one of them! Now, instead of sending pictures by snail mail, we can see and talk to friends and family on our social networks more conveniently.

Online resources have made telehealth from your provider possible, and the result has opened a fantastic way to meet with a therapist via telehealth.

Telehealth offers many conveniences.

In-person therapy doesn’t work for everyone, even though there is a definite need for treatment.

Some lack mobility or transportation, making visiting a therapist’s office impossible. Others don’t have the time to travel to a therapist’s office, especially with family and work commitments.

Telehealth offers a convenient alternative to in-person therapy. You only need an Internet connection and a visual and verbal communication device. We set a time, you pick the space, and with a click, our session begins.

Don’t worry about confidentiality. Our sessions occur over a HIPPA-compliant link, allowing us to have a private conversation. However, I suggest you find a place where our conversations remain private and uninterrupted.

You might wonder, “Does telehealth work as well as in-person therapy?” The answer is yes. Research demonstrates that telehealth has proven to be as effective for most issues as seeing a therapist in person.

I offer telehealth in my practice to reach everyone with a therapy need we can address online.

When we have a scheduled appointment, I send you a link to your telehealth session that you can open from the portal you created when you completed your intake paperwork online.

Then, I will open the link when we agree on a time. I hope to see you there soon.
